A LITTLE CLARITY BEFORE YOU CONTINUE

Know what a QR code does. Before you act on it.

A QR code doesn’t tell you where it leads. Safe QR does. It reads the code, explains the risks and leaves the decision to you.

FROM A CODE TO A CLEAR DECISION

A moment to check. Peace of mind.

01

Point. And scan.

A code on a meter, a letter or a screen. Safe QR first reads what is inside.

The Safe QR camera is locked on a parking sticker. A Dangerous warning appears below the scanned code.
02

An instant phone check

A link, a payment, an SMS or something else? Your phone spots known risks immediately. Even offline.

The phone’s SMS check: Dangerous, a risk score of 85 out of 100. One received message may cost up to CZK 99, and charges may repeat.
03

A closer look

With your consent, the cloud checks the link’s journey, the code’s surroundings and known scams.

Completed deep check: Dangerous. The website asks for sensitive details. The link’s path and redirect appear below the result.
04

You decide

See the risk, the reasons and what could not be checked. Nothing opens or sends without your decision.

Confirmation before a risky SMS: Go back is the prominent button. Continuing despite the risk requires pressing and holding.

Screenshots are from the iOS Simulator. The camera view uses a synthetic photo.

TECHNOLOGY WITH CLEAR BOUNDARIES

Help with the decision. Never a decision for you.

AI explains the findings in everyday language. It cannot dismiss a risk proven by the phone. When something is unknown, we say so.

How we protect privacy

On your phone first

The first check sends no data. Cloud checks start only after one-time consent.

Cloud checks in the EU

Deep checks run on AWS in the EU. Photos are temporarily stored with encryption. We delete them after analysis.

No promise of zero risk

The result helps, but it can be wrong. We always explain what could not be checked.

YOU MIGHT BE WONDERING

Good questions. Clear answers.

Is every QR code dangerous?

No. A QR code is a way to store information. It can contain a menu or a payment request. What matters is understanding the next step.

Can scanning alone cause a scam?

Payments and logins usually require another step. Risk often comes from opening a website, entering details or confirming. Safe QR shows the contents and possible consequences first.

What does the 0–100 score mean?

A higher number means more risk was found. Below 30: looks safe. 30–69: be careful. 70 and above: dangerous. It is not a percentage chance of fraud or a safety guarantee.

Does it work without the internet?

Yes, the first check runs on your phone. Without a connection, it cannot inspect the destination or obtain new cloud evidence. The app makes that limit clear.

Who decides: me or AI?

You always decide. AI helps explain the findings. It can raise risk, but cannot lower it below the proven minimum set by the phone. It cannot pay, send messages or approve logins for you.

When can I download the app?

Safe QR is a working prototype for The FinTechers Hackathon 2026. An iPhone release for iOS 26 and later is planned. We have not announced a date or price.
